The island – LeniLeni (from the Greek lenoì, tubs for the crushing of grapes) on the south-western side of the Island includes the villages of Rinella, with the island’s other commercial port, and Valdichiesa, which is located at 300 metres above sea level, and which is purely an agricultural location, famous for the Madonna del Terzito Sanctuary, a popular destination for pilgrimages. In circa 2 hours you can reach Bosco di Fossa delle Felci from here by walking along a path; this location is a protected nature reserve, from which you can admire the majestic scenery of all the islands. Near Rinella, in a locality called Pertuso, you will find the “Quartoluoro” spring. |
