HOTEL RAVESI: YOUR SUSTAINABLE HOLIDAY
The Hotel has minimized the consumption of plastic with the aim of becoming soon single-use plastic free. Our guests can choose different options for the cleaning of the rooms and change of towels/linen to impact less on the environment. Since 2020, the electric energy used by the hotel is produced by renewable sources: a photovoltaic system which makes the structure almost totally self-sufficient from the energetic point of view.
During cooler months, our pool is heated exclusively by the solar panels energy. Our guests can choose to make their stay even more sustainable by renting our electric bikes and scooters to visit the island, powered by the structure's renewable sources. The hotel also provides an electric vehicle for the mobility of guests.
Hotel Ravesi is certified Ecolabel and uses biologic and zero km products for the preparation of breakfast, light lunch and aperitif. All the ingredients used in the kitchen are from the vegetables garden of the Ravesi family. When not available, they are directly purchased from the local producers. Every meal comes from the ancient recipes of the Ravesi family. Meals are prepared with attention and care by the owner of the hotel, Mrs Ravesi herself. Our high quality selection of cheeses and hams on the bar's menu comes from small Sicilians farms exclusively. The capers and « Suino dei Nebrodi » (type of ham) present on our menu are both Slow Food Presidium. White and red wines that you can discover from lunch to aperitivo time at our Bar are exclusively produced in Salina by small family companies.
SALINA, ISLAND FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION OF THE MINOR ISLANDS
In 2019 the island of Salina was chosen by the European Union, through the European Secretariat "Clean Energy for EU Islands", as a pilot island for the energy transition of the smaller islands: an ambitious project that aims to make the island self-sufficient from the energetic point of view.
Hotel Ravesi is the protagonist of this project and a holiday here is indeed sustainable.
Committed to the protection of the environment and to the community of Salina, Hotel Ravesi supports also, since its beginning, the new project of creating a Protected Marine Area.
